BOAT & SHIP RESTORATION PROGRAM
The Timber Haven Boat & Ship Restoration Program restores donated wooden ships, boats and maritime craft as part of The Timber Haven Project.
Through careful hands-on restoration, participants learn woodcraft skills, connect with others and contribute to the preservation of local craftsmanship and community history.
The project provides a safe, respectful and trauma-informed workshop environment where people can rebuild confidence, purpose and connection through meaningful practical work.

The Timber Haven Wellbeing Program
A trauma-informed, peer-support and practical woodcraft wellbeing program created to support people through purpose, routine, mentoring, connection and meaningful hands-on work.
Program Statement
The Timber Haven Wellbeing Program is a voluntary community-based woodcraft program designed to support wellbeing, resilience and recovery through practical timber work, mentoring, peer connection and safe workshop participation.
The program draws on the founder’s experience in emergency services leadership, peer support, mental health first aid, counselling studies, volunteer management, mentoring, woodcraft, workshop safety and community service.
It provides a calm and structured environment where participants can build confidence, learn basic woodwork skills, connect with others, and experience the quiet value of creating something meaningful with their own hands.
The program is not a clinical counselling, psychology, crisis or trauma-treatment service. It is a trauma-informed peer-support and mentoring program that complements professional care by offering routine, dignity, skill development, safe connection and referral pathways.
